There are currently 3 versions of the Photo Locator iPhone app.

Version 1.0 - Was available on the App Store until the 1st of October 2009

  • tracks current location based on GSM cells, WiFi and GPS

  • stores location information (latitude, longitude, timestamp) in a sqlite database

  • exports the sqlite database via email

  • use locations captured with the phone to add gps details to your pictures using Photo Locator Mac version

Version 1.1 - Was available on the App Store until 14 October 2009

  • adds GPX and KML export options

  • use GPX files to import your locations in any Geolocation software capable of reading gpx files

  • use KML files to show paths in Google Earth or Google Maps

Version 1.2 - Available on the App Store

  • adds integration with Facebook, Yahoo Maps and Google Maps

  • publish a map of your current location on your Facebook Wall

  • send a map of your current location via email

Version 1.2.2 - Submitted to Apple on 14th of Oct; currently in review

  • In Configuration there is a new option that will allow you to keep the screen always on in tracking mode. If you wish to continuously save location data (for paths, or taking photos from a moving car) set this option to ON.

  • Added the possibility to remove only certain locations based on the location name. You will find the new button in Track location, above Delete all saved location. You are presented with a list of saved places. You can also see how many records that place contains. Swipe the desired location and tap Delete.
